Celeste Morien led a warm and wonderful field trip during which we visited numerous field locations. Highlights included a Black-necked Stilt, a daisy covered Osprey nest and a brilliantly colored Prothonotary Warbler.
Black-necked Stilt! After a hiatus of a few weeks, the long-staying stilt showed face for the BOS field trip on June 17.

Distant Trumpeter Swans seen from Cayuga Overlook. Doesn't look like they nested this year but the birds were first reported back in March 2017 at this location.

Most of the group enjoying close encounters with Purple Martins. Our leader, Celeste Morien, is an active member of the NYS Purple Martin Society and she is responsible for helping to maintain these housing complexes and banding the birds.

Black Tern hawking insects over Kumpf Marsh. We also had them at Cayuga Overlook. A declining species.

A walk down Onondaga Trail netted us Acadian Fkycatcher, Cerulean and Hooded Warblers and more. Bring your bug spray!
