The lake on the University of Buffalo North Campus has the propensity to attract diving ducks and loons normally found on the Great Lakes or Niagara. This Surf Scoter was an interesting drop-in on the 20th as photographed by Jim Sawusch.

The Zebehazy’s garden in Orchard Park attracted a late-season Ruby-throated Hummingbird on the 15th. Since the region has not had a frost or freeze yet, annuals are still flowering and providing nectar for the late comers!
